NTAA 2026/27 Budget Update
On 12 May 2026, Treasurer Jim Chalmers handed down the 2026/27 Federal Budget.
This edition of Voice details some of the measures announced by the Government (as well as some which were actually announced prior to the Budget) on pages 4 and 5.
As always, we have also provided a comprehensive summary of the Government's tax and superannuation announcements in the NTAA's 2026/27 Budget Summary and Budget video both available on our website, and our live streamed NTAA EXPRESS: Federal Budget 2026– 27 Analysis & Impacts seminar is now available as an instant access online seminar. The Federal Budget is also discussed in the June 2026 Edition of Tax on the Couch (refer to page 19 of this edition of Voice).
Our Senior Advocate, Robyn Jacobson, also appeared on the Accountants Daily post-Budget webcast on 27 May 2026, and our team also provided detailed information and examples for the Australian Financial Review in the following articles:
- "How the new CGT rules work (and who faces higher taxes)" on 29 May 2026; and
- "Four scenarios that show how your CGT bill may be calculated" in AFR Weekend (30-31 May 2026).
