The IGTO's Systemic review of the effectiveness of the ATO's registered agent phone line

NTAA has been pleased to see the Inspector-General of Taxation and Taxation Ombudsman ('IGTO') increase its focus on issues impacting tax agents. In direct consultations with Inspector General Ruth Owen, NTAA raised members' concerns relating to both the ATO's registered agent phone line and client-to-agent ('CAL') linking.

Therefore, it is pleasing to see the IGTO's recent announcements regarding a systemic review of the effectiveness of the ATO's registered agent phone line (including CAL support).

The IGTO has indicated that it will create a survey for tax agents to easily provide direct feedback on this critical review.
